RCCC - Ranger Casualty Care Course

@the_paradocx is conducting a training event deep in the remote Kalahari bush, focusing on critical skills for austere environments. One technique being taught is an improvised pelvic wrap created by making specific cuts in the patient’s pants using trauma shears.

This method is designed for scenarios where professional medical help is hours away, and rapid patient stabilization and movement are essential. While research on the efficacy of pelvic binders is still ongoing, this technique is a practical tool for addressing pelvic instability in challenging conditions.
The training emphasizes a ranger mindset: adapting to the available resources, fostering self-sufficiency, and building unwavering trust among teammates. In these environments, the ability to rely on one another can mean the difference between life and death.

Rangers face unique risks in their line of duty, often stemming from the wildlife they protect. Injuries from dangerous animals such as buffalo, hippos, and elephants are a daily hazard, making these life-saving skills vital for their survival.

2 foundations we hold ourselves to are the following:

1. Staying current with the newest and most effective trauma/field medicine guidelines.
2. Consider the ranger’s needs in their given environment, as this can and will always vary.

Setting up a @spartantrail cam 📸 thanks to a VERY generous donor who wishes to remain anonymous.

These photos also provide a look into a series of events that took place doing such a simple task with Mali’s and Dutchies 😏Wouldn’t trade it for the world 🐾.

This camera will send us photos immediately after it takes a photo of any movement infront of it to provide us with essential wildlife data, specifically to support @ingwe_research_program 🐆.

It will also aid in security measures and letting us see all of the other movement in essential areas on the reserve where they are located.

If anyone else is interested, the donor will have access to the camera app which means you will get all of the real-time photos within moments after they happen wherever you are in the world - as long as you have signal 😁.
